B J is shown working on the most recent painting in her series entitled, "The Aura of Women." Each painting in the
series depicts her creation of a personality of strengths she sees women having, but neglecting to recognize or value in themselves.
B J hopes this series will elevate that awareness in all women who view this body of work.
"I hope men enjoy the spirit and spunk that gives 'my gals' their allure as well," B J said with a smile.
The painting in progress in this photo is called, "Mariah." B J said the first thing that came to her mind
in titling this piece was the song, "They Call the Wind Mariah." "She feels as strong and as gentle as the
wind at the same time, and with a similar spirit of free-flowing freedom," the artist said.
Each woman in the series is born of B J's perception. "I like to create the personality and the image that fits
her, from the expression to the garments." Being a former garment designer, B J said she loves creating the garments
and designing the jewelry to fit each image.
