Nature, being the celestial artist, I find the Lion-Fish a work of art just in its existence.
The Lion-Fish convinces me that Nature presents to us the most profound drama and universal artistic ability. Its elegance
of design and color belies the agony of a puncture wound from its venomous spines.
Lion-Fish belong to the Scorpion fish family and are usually found in coral reefs, hovering in caves or near crevices.
So it is no wonder that this beautiful fellow was not cooperatively strutting his stuff in his saltwater tank in the city,
far from the natural habitat of his relatives, as I circled him with my camera. As luck would have it, the caretaker arrived
for routine maintenance of his required delicately balanced environment and graciously gave the creature a number of gentle
incentives to find another reclusive spot. I was in awe of the artistic majesty Nature had bestowed upon him as I took advantage
of the opportunity and snapped this shot.
Artist's Dialogue will be included with print orders.
